Silently for me

He boarded in another terminal race

And fought to find his place

He looked into another lonely face

And turned to keep his mind embraced

With the only vision he knew could keep him alive

He landed in a field far out of town

And cabbed his way down

He was driven to another lonely space

In the dark with the a TV haze

And a wish that no one knew that sent him out of his mind

Was she standing there for me

Silently for me

Waiting in line forever mine

She dropped herself off on her way into work

And tugged on her skirt

She noticed another wifeís lonely flirt

Looked down and put away her purse

In a drawer with her favorite dream to keep it alive

She mingled with the usual boy men

Her boss wasnít in

She chatted with the lady friends

Watched the clock and counted back from ten

Till the clock had spun enough seconds

To start the evening again

Was he standing there for me

Silently for me

Waiting in line forever mine

They stitched it that way

In the dark

It went on for years

They found themselves

Growing apart

As they built careers

And the middle got near

As they built careers

And the end got clear

And so the story goes for all

At least the involved

In the beginning which would you pick stalled?

Your love or your call?

And perhaps itís not a carefully thought out

Choice at all

Standing there for me

Silently for me

Waiting in line forever mine
